A 15-year-old boy, Mojoyinoluwa Abioye, shot his 12-year-old friend, Timilehin Oguntoye, to death while playing with a loaded locally-made gun at Akiriboto in Osun State. The incident happened on Saturday in Ife-North Local Government Council.
A source explained that the incident, which threw the village into mourning, also caused pandemonium.
Members of Oguntoye family threatened to kill any member of Abioye family in retaliation. The elders in the village were, however, able to calm frayed nerves.
Abioye took to his heels immediately after the incident. Police Public Relations Officer, Osun State Police Command, Mrs Sade Odoro, confirmed the incident. She said, “The police are on the trail of the fleeing teenager.”
