The grandpa was declared dead on arrival at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Idi-Araba, where he was rushed to.
Trouble started when the deceased was allegedly asked by his landlord, Mr Akinrinola, to vacate his self-contained apartment after spending barely a year out of the one and half years he paid for when he packed into the house last year January.
The landlord’s relationship with the deceased became strained in the process of trying to eject him from the premises and they started living like cat and mouse afterwards, said a source.
The situation remained this way until Monday when the 10 men stormed the building with weapons and reportedly beat the old man to death.
However, luck ran out on Samuel Eromosele Enato, who was allegedly involved in the attack. He was arrested by the police and is currently in custody at Abado/Oke-Odo Police Station. The landlord and his wife have also been arrested.
